Only till 6pm am I a star says Samantha
Samantha Ruth Prabhu, is doing everything she can to promote Gunashekar’s upcoming film, Shaakuntalam.
The film is based on Kalidasa’s well-known play Shakuntala, which was performed in India.
Shakuntala, played by Samantha, and Dushyanta, played by Dev Mohan.
At recent promotional events in Mumbai and Hyderabad, Samantha talked about how much she was looking forward to performing a role that she had wanted since she was a little girl.
Samantha is a fan of Disney movies and princesses despite having performed more realistic characters in the past, such as in “The Family Man 2.”
“Being cast as a Princess in a film like ‘Shaakuntalam’ was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, since she represents the pinnacle of excellence. It was scary at first to take on such a major role. But I’ve been taking on difficult tasks lately,” Samantha explained.
Samantha thinks her portrayal of Shakuntala will be an endearing factor for girls, women, and families, and producer Dil Raju was very confident in the storyline because of it.
Samantha also commented on Allu Arjun’s daughter Arha’s acting debut in Shakuntalaam, saying that the role has come out nicely alongside the principal characters and that she believes families and children would connect with the movie.
Samantha remarked that someone should tell her pets that she is a famous because she still cleans their poop after becoming a Pan-Indian celebrity.
On a more sombre note, she said that after 6 o’clock in the evening, nothing changes in her life and she goes back to being herself.
Samantha has been thankful for roles that challenge her and provide her with opportunities to conduct action scenes rather than play the stereotypical “damsel in distress” who needs to be rescued by the hero.
She never imagined she would make it this far and is grateful for the opportunities presented to her. “It’s a new phase for me, and I am absolutely enjoying this phase,” she said.
