After Animal Ranbir Kapoor says he wants to take a break from acting in movies
Ranbir Kapoor has back-to-back film releases in 2022 with Shamshera and Brahmstra: Part One – Shiva after a four-year hiatus following the release of Sanju (2018). Also, he made cameo appearances in the movies Govinda Naam Mera and Rocket Gang. The actor previously said that he would like to take a sabbatical following the release of his next two movies to assess where he stands as an actor.
Along with his most recent two acting roles, Ranbir had a busy year in 2022 because he wed actress Alia Bhatt and welcomed their first child, a daughter named Raha Kapoor, on November 6. Wednesday marks the theatrical debut of Luv Ranjan’s romantic comedy Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar. In the movie, he performs with Shraddha Kapoor for the first time.
The actor discussed his hesitation to sign up for anything after his professional responsibilities for this year are over while promoting the movie. Ranbir stated in a GOODTiMES interview: “After Animal, I didn’t sign anything else. I haven’t signed a contract for a movie yet, and I’m not looking for work either. After watching Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar and Animal, I’d like to take a brief break to assess where I stand in relation to the film industry.”
The actor continued by saying that he felt the need to step aside so he could assess the state of the business as well.
He declared, “After the pandemic, I believe there has been a significant adjustment in the film industry as well, regarding the stories, the budgets, and the actor compensation. I believe the industry is going through a phase of correction and that by the next year, we will be back on our feet.”
In 2007, Ranbir made his acting debut alongside Sonam Kapoor in Sawaariya by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The movie struggled at the box office since it competed with Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s Om Shanti Om, directed by Farah Khan. Animal, a family saga by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, will be released on August 11th, 2023. Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Triptii Dimri are also featured in the movie.
