Actress Shefali Shah recently spoke about a time when she was sexually handled in a public area. She felt “crap” about it, she added, so she resolved to never bring it up again. They said she felt embarrassed by it.
Shefali recently appeared on a podcast episode, where she discussed her breakout role in Mira Nair’s Monsoon Wedding. She portrayed Ria Verma, a minor victim of sexual assault in the film. In addition to Naseeruddin Shah and Soni Razdan, the film also featured Lillete Dubey, Vasundhara Das, Vijay Raaz, Rajat Kapoor, Randeep Hooda, and Vijay Raaz.
Shefali shared her life story as she discussed the movie’s themes. In an ANI podcast with Smita Prakash, she remarked, “Like I said previously, everyone’s gone through it. I was humiliated by an unwanted touch I received while shopping in a busy market. I never spoke out since I didn’t feel guilty, but now I feel ashamed.
