Rani Mukerji once asked Parineeti Chopra why don’t you try acting

In 2011, Parineeti Chopra made her debut in the Hindi film industry with the movie Ladies vs. Ricky Bahl. However, at one point in her life, she had no plans to become an actor and had only started working at Yash Raj Films in the hopes of joining the production house’s accounts department. Parineeti has a strong academic background. She has a triple Honours degree from the Manchester Business School in business, finance, and economics. But Rani Mukerji, an actor, changed Parineeti’s mind and inspired her to become an actor.

In 2014, when Parineeti was on Karan Johar’s show Koffee With Karan, she talked about how her life changed when she went to work with Rani Mukerji on the set of Bigg Boss. Parineeti remembered that she was Rani’s manager that day because Rani’s manager was out of town.
“It all changed in just one day,” Parineeti said. I remember I was managing Rani (Mukerji). I was filling in for her manager, who was busy with another star. I was in charge of her on the set of Bigg Boss, and one day she asked me, “If you are Priyanka’s cousin, why aren’t you an actor?” I told her, “No, ma’am, I don’t want to be an actor, etc.” But she said that if you become an actress, you’ll be a great one.”
The next day, producer Maneesh Sharma, who was thought to be her boyfriend at the time, sent Parineeti to the home of casting director Shanoo Sharma. Shanoo Sharma took a video of Parineeti doing a scene from Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor’s movie Jab We Met for her tryout.
“I thought she (Shanoo) was saving the video for her bank. I didn’t hear from her for a month and a half,” Parineeti said. By that time, she had chosen to quit her job at YRF and work on getting better at acting. “I quit my job and started looking for acting schools,” the actor said. Then, one day, Maneesh called me to the Yash Raj office and said, “Congratulations, you’re getting a three-film deal with Yash Raj Films.”
Many people thought that Parineeti got the “three-film deal” with YRF because of her friendship with Maneesh Sharma after she got it. To set the record straight about this, Parineeti said, “I think it’s cheap when people say you got the movie because you’re dating Maneesh or are in a relationship with him.” He reminds me of Aditya Chopra’s character Adi. I look up to both of them so much. They gave me everything I have. They are the reason I can buy a car today.”

But when Parineeti gave her first performance in Ladies Vs. Ricky Behl, she thought she had always been an actress. She had told Vogue before about her first shot, “Maneesh said “action,” I did the shot, and then he said “cut.” And I knew right away that I could do it. I felt like I had seen it 30 times. Maybe I didn’t feel anything else because I was so happy.”
The last time we saw Parineeti Chopra was in the movie Uunchai, which came out in 2022. On Saturday, she will get engaged to her boyfriend and AAP leader Raghav Chadha in Delhi.
