In addition, she used the hashtags RRR and The Elephant Whisperer to refer to the Indian winners. The Elephant Whisperers received an Oscar for Best Documentary Short Subject, while RRR’s Naatu Naatu won the Best Original Music prize. Singer Harshdeep Kaur replied to the post with the word “Lovely” and a heart emoji. Danish Sait, an actor, responded with “Really good” and a series of heart emojis.
In the meantime, Deepika Padukone joined Priyanka Chopra and Persis Khambatta as the third Indian presenter to attend the Academy Awards. Deepika opened the ceremony by introducing Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava’s Naatu Naatu performance.
